The Federation of Construction Employers' Associations (FPSC), through the DigiConstruct project - Digital Skills for the Construction Industry (SMIS 143383), has developed the training capacity of 15 construction companies for free.
Professional training is a form of continuous education that complements the formal education system. Its purpose is to increase the professional skill levels of employees through various offline and online courses and training programs, aiming at the following objectives:
• Better adaptation to labor market demands
• Promotion at work and professional development
• Professional retraining
• Prevention of unemployment risk
• Stimulation of workforce adaptability
These objectives represent the benefits of training for employees. However, we must not overlook employers, who, according to the 2003 Labor Code, Articles 194 and 195:
• Are obliged to ensure participation in such programs for all employees at least once every 2 years if they have at least 21 employees.
• For employers with fewer than 21 employees, organizing professional training courses is mandatory every 3 years.
• Employers with more than 20 employees must develop and implement annual professional training plans, in consultation with the union or employee representatives.
In light of these aspects, FPSC has developed this year the internal training capacity of 15 SMEs in construction through the European project "DigiConstruct - Digital Skills for the Construction Industry (SMIS 143383)" by developing complex training strategies.
"We have supported 15 SMEs in building the internal capacity to train current and future employees because the mission of the Federation of Construction Employers' Associations is to constantly find solutions for the development of the construction sector and to offer real support to the industry. We are pleased that there was genuine interest, and we exceeded the project’s targets by 50%. Thanks to the training strategies developed through the project, several hundred employees will benefit from training in the near future within the companies where they are employed. I believe the industry is moving in the right direction," says Adriana Iftime, General Director of FPSC and Project Manager of DigiConstruct.
