INNOCONSTRUCT 2023 - Conclusions

The third edition of the INNOCONSTRUCT conference – "How Digital, How Fast?" has concluded, generating excitement, partnerships, and new projects.

This year's agenda was packed, with the conference featuring multiple dimensions: speaker presentations, roundtable discussions on topics of interest such as the construction classification system or the future of professions, a match-making event, and a hackathon with participants from the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest.

Nearly 300 participants from the business, academic, administrative, and associative sectors, along with 31 top speakers from Germany, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Austria, Moldova, and Romania, presented on the first day, sharing theses and examples of best practices in construction innovation, alongside members of the Government.

The second day marked a national premiere for the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry with the organization of 100 bilateral meetings, each lasting 20 minutes, between AEC members, digital solution providers, and public administration representatives. On the same day, four roundtable discussions were held on the following topics: the digitalization process in construction, the circular economy, the future of professions, and the importance of standardization in applying the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, with over 100 participants. Additionally, the event hosted a hackathon with 30 students, professors, and representatives from construction companies. The challenge for the teams was to find energy efficiency solutions for the Palace of the Parliament using digital twin technology.

The TEC Cluster – "Technology Enabled Construction," a key player in the development and modernization of Romania's industry, is built on the principle of the quadruple helix of innovation, bringing together organizations from the private sector, academia and research, the associative environment, and the public sector in a constant partnership. This is based on the shared values of its members and medium- to long-term objectives focused on increasing competitiveness through innovation, co-creation, and integration across the entire value chain of the construction industry.
